My 70-year-old mother is currently waiting at Royal Columbian Hospital to find out if she\’s broken something in her ankle or foot following her fourth fall due to uneven and unsafe sidewalks in New Westminster.
Having spent several years supporting individuals in wheelchairs and accompanying them around the New West community, I\’m quite familiar with the difficulties and hazards New West sidewalks present. It seems like an extremely fixable problem, one that is better dealt with now rather than after a vulnerable resident sustains a potentially life-threatening head injury.
