NWP Hosts Three Community Townhall Forums and Launches Online Survey

New West Progressives mayoral candidate Ken Armstrong announced a series of community townhall forums today which his team has scheduled to take place in May. Three separate forums will be organized in Queensborough, Downtown and Sapperton on May 5, 10 and 17th and the public are invited to participate.

In addition to the townhall forums, Armstrong launched an online survey to garner additional feedback from residents and local small businesses. The feedback obtained in the survey and townhall forums will be used to develop the 2022 New West Progressives Council Campaign Platform which will be released later this year in advance of the October 15th civic election.

“In the 2018 civic election our team of candidates developed an amazing and comprehensive 10 point platform that caught the public’s attention. It was so good, that the current city council even took a page or two out of it and began to implement some of our ideas,” says Armstrong. “Now that we’re able to gather in-person once again to get direct feedback from the community, it’s important we do so to ensure that our platform reflects their priorities. This type of policy development and feedback needs to happen more regularly at city hall. It’s something our team intends to implement rather quickly after we get elected.”
