Armstrong says crime and safety will be a key issue in 2022 campaign

In his first official radio interview as the mayoral candidate for the NWP, Ken Armstrong made a strong commitment that crime and safety will be one if his top priorities if he and his team are elected this fall in the civic election.

\”There is a lot of people complaining about the safety, the lack of safety in our downtown core,\” says Armstrong. \”We need to make sure that our police is adequately funded to provided the services that need to be provided.\”

The NWP will be consulting with downtown business owners and citizens about what more can be done to ensure our downtown core and other parts of our city remain safe and secure. The feedback NWP candidates receive will be incorporated into the campaign platform that will be released later this year.

\”Our elected officials have lost their way,\” says Armstrong. \”The role of council is to work collaboratively with the police to make sure that our streets are free of crime and that citizens feel safe on our streets.\”
