WOW – What a Run!!!!
I’d like to express my sincere gratitude for the overwhelming support, love and encouragement our NWP team has received from friends, family, volunteers, donors and community members.
This was a team win and I’m proud of the positive campaign we ran. This clearly resonated with many people throughout New Westminster. Our team was up against a huge political machine, yet in the end, it was not provincial nor federal politicians who decided the final outcome of the School Board by-election last night – it was you!
It was you – the residents (from all different political & socio-economic backgrounds) who went to the polls and sent a very clear message. You want us to turn the page on a dark chapter at the School Board and that is exactly what we will do.
Regardless of whether you voted for me or not – or whether you even voted – we all need to work collaboratively to address the many identified challenges facing our school system.
Let me also take a moment to extend my congratulations to the three other candidates. I encourage each of them to remain actively engaged and dedicated to enhancing our school system and look forward to the possibility of collaborating with them in the months ahead, in some capacity, for the betterment of our students
I also look forward to working with all the School Board Trustees knowing that a variety of experiences and perspectives being brought to the table is in the best interests of our students. You have my commitment that I will always put the students at the forefront of every decision made.
Thank you again for all the love and support you demonstrated over the past few months leading up to last night. I am so proud to be part of a New West Progressives team that has worked so hard to make positive change for the citizens of New Westminster. Now it’s time to roll up my sleeves and get to work! I look forward to chatting with you again soon!
