Councillors Daniel Fontaine and Paul Minhas have launched another initiative to bring city hall even closer to your neighbourhood. They’ve launched Councillor Cafés – a pilot project to initiate six community events whereby citizens can drop in and have a cuppa java with their city councillors and discuss policies, procedures, and priorities.
“We’re looking forward to getting out of city hall and heading back into the community,” says Fontaine. “Our Councillor Café concept encourages people to come and grab a cup of coffee, talk city governance, or simply drop in to say hi.”
A total of four Councillor Café sessions have been confirmed for Jan 10th, 25th and Feb 15th and 25th. For more detailed information, please click here.
“This is a great way to hear directly from citizens as to what they consider should be the top priorities of city council,” says Minhas. “It’s important as elected officials that we use every opportunity to find ways of listening to the public and encourage them to get engaged in the process.”
All members of city council have been invited to attend these non-partisan events.
