NWP city councillors Daniel Fontaine and Paul Minhas made their way to Victoria (on their own dime) to have lunch with Premier Eby and the provincial Cabinet yesterday in Victoria.
They participated in a special BC Chamber of Commerce event. During their trip they attended and were introduced just before Question Period. Keith Baldrey, Global TV’s Legislative Bureau Chief, even provided them with a special tour of the Parliament Buildings!
They also had a productive meeting with Official Opposition House Leader Todd Stone who also serves as the MLA for Kamloops. They discussed housing, street crime and a range of other important issues of concern to New Westminster residents.
“We had a very productive day in Victoria and we did everything we could to raise the profile of New Westminster with our provincial representatives,” says Fontaine.
“It was a great honour to visit the Legislature for the first time in my life and to meet so many members of the Cabinet and opposition MLAs in what was an incredibly memorable day,” says Minhas.
Both Fontaine and Minhas are planning to be back in Victoria again soon! Stay tuned for more details.
