Trustee candidate Kathleen Carlsen made an appearance on For the Record with Daniel Fontaine to discuss why she is running in the upcoming by-election and much more.
“I think Community First needs a time out”, says Carlsen. She stated that Community First should not be rewarded in the upcoming by-election and that they need to take time to reflect on what has transpired at the School Board over the last year. The School Board has been mired in multiple controversies which led to former School Trustee Dee Beattie resigning last month. The former Chair of the School Board was also the subject of a police investigation with the case handed over to a special prosecutor.
“This has been a very long year for the School Board,” says Carlsen. “The focus should be put back on the students, the teachers and other staff working in our school district. The attention should not be on the elected officials who were entrusted only last year to govern the School Board.”
