STATEMENT FROM NWP BOARD OF DIRECTORS regarding the recent announcement by Mayor Jonathan Cote that he will not run again this fall in the civic election.
The Board of Directors for the New West Progressives wish to acknowledge the many years of public service of Mayor Jonathan Cote. We recognize the difficult decision he had to make in announcing he will not be seeking public office again at the end of his term in October.
We want to thank the Mayor for his commitment to public service and his long-standing efforts at trying to bring consensus at city hall and working to make our city an even better place to live, work and play.
The New West Progressives have been working over the last six months to recruit a slate of candidates for Mayor, Council and School Board. It is anticipated that a majority of these candidates will be announced in the months leading up to a special nomination meeting tentatively scheduled for late May.
